  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz mushrooms, diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 pita pockets
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Then add the minced garlic, ground beef, diced mushrooms, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (make sure it's drained), minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Take each pita pocket and carefully open them up. Fill each pocket generously with the cheesy beef mixture followed by a spoonful of tzatziki sauce.
  4. Serve immediately while warm!
